Uşak University Showcases Turkey’s Design Prowess on the Global Stage!

The Leather, Textile and Ceramic (DTS) Design Application and Research Center at Uşak University has successfully completed the design and technical specifications for personnel uniforms and equipment tailored for the European Union’s Emergency Medical Teams (rescEU EMT). Operating with a commitment to national and domestic production, the DTS Design Center continues to elevate Turkey’s design capabilities across borders—marking yet another significant achievement in advancing the country’s presence in international innovation and manufacturing.

DTS Design Center: A New Address for Global Success

Uşak University’s DTS Design Application and Research Center makes its mark on Europe with locally engineered innovation.

Uşak University Rector, Prof. Dr. Ekrem Savaş, highlighted the center’s continuous commitment to innovation since its establishment, emphasizing its role in promoting domestic production through cutting-edge design.

Speaking on the recent collaboration with the European Union’s Emergency Medical Teams (rescEU EMT), Prof. Dr. Savaş stated:

“The collaboration between our DTS Design Center and the European Union’s Emergency Medical Team marks a significant step forward not only for Uşak but also for our country. The operational uniforms and equipment for the rescEU EMT teams were meticulously designed and technically specified by our center. Each detail—from material selection and reflective strips to waterproofing, visibility, safety, and overall security—was handled with great care. These designs were met with high praise by the rescEU EMT, which is now preparing to initiate production. This is a truly proud achievement for our nation.”

Prof. Dr. Savaş also underlined Uşak University’s continued leadership in national projects, stating:

“Thanks to our expertise in the textile sector, Uşak University is not only a preferred partner in international collaborations, but also the first choice of many national institutions. Over the past three years, our DTS Design Center has been responsible for the design and production processes of summer and winter uniforms for 112 Emergency Medical Services, the National Medical Rescue Team (UMKE), the General Directorate of Forestry (OGM), and the Turkish Post (PTT). Additionally, we are currently designing uniforms for the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD). Our center leverages advanced digital design technologies, offering fully 3D-modeled products that allow institutions to visualize and revise uniforms in detail before moving into production. With its high-quality services, the DTS Design Center will continue to proudly represent Turkey’s design and manufacturing potential both at home and abroad.”

Meanwhile, rescEU EMT announced the collaboration via its official LinkedIn account, confirming the completion of the design and technical specifications in partnership with Uşak University’s DTS Design Center. The statement emphasized the University’s broad expertise in the textile industry and noted that the center is already responsible for designing uniforms for numerous major institutions in Turkey.
